Great photo and a beautiful bird!!! We have a satin bower bird who lives with us on our property and a family of tawny frog mouths who return to nest each year. We like to call them ours.
I must say it was my husband who took the photo. Mr. Ricochet really has a handle on outdoor/nature shots. You can see Mrs. Woodpecker's head in the bottom of the frame. The purpose of the photo session was to capture them together in the same frame. This was as close as he could get!
what a great photo! I didn't know woodpeckers were so pretty :-)
ReplyDeleteYay snow! I'm waiting for it to snow here. I think I'll be waiting a while!
ReplyDeleteMr Woodpecker is adorable!
He certainly is handsome....such a fantastic shot.
ReplyDeleteRikka - you took such a great photo! I do really miss snow. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing pic. To see such a lovely bird in the snow, while we are slowly melting here seems very strange.
